- Aromatic description
- Also called olibanum, this very fragrant gum resin has an ancient lineage and is one of the most famous scents in history. Frankincense has a sharp, sweet balsam odor when burned as incense and is commonly used in religious ceremonies. This faraway, remote and fascinating fragrance imparts a resinous and sensual aroma that adds a mellow, woodsy note to any blend. Frankincense is a wonderful fixative and is used as a smooth, warm base note in many perfumes. It is elevating, spiritual and meditative.
